Get to Know… Mathieu R. Lafrenière

BACKGROUND
Mathieu first joined the SNJ family as an articling student in May of 2015. In May of 2016, after being called to the Bar, Mathieu remained a part of the SNJ team as an associate lawyer.
EDUCATION
Prior to working at SNJ, Mathieu graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Manitoba in 2009, he majored in Philosophy with a minor in Religion. He then graduated from the University of North Dakota Law School in December 2013.
PERSONAL INTERESTS
Mathieu was born and raised in St. Boniface and has always been very active in that community. Mathieu began volunteering at the age of 9 when his mother (an Honour 150 Recipient) started a Christmas Hamper project. To this day, he, his mother, and countless other volunteers keep the annual project alive.
Mathieu is currently the Representative for Eastern Manitoba on the Law Society of Manitoba Board of Directors, he also acts as the Vice-Chair of the Board of Sara Riel Inc., is a Board member of the Sara Riel Foundation, and is a Board member of the Ste Anne Curling. He previously had been a member of the Board of the Aulneau Renewal Centre, as well as serving on the Law Society of Manitoba President’s Special Committee on Health and Wellness.
Mathieu and his lovely wife, Sabrina, live in Steinbach and enjoy spending time in the community. Outside of the office, Mathieu can be found golfing, curling or spending time with his friends and family.
