SNJ is pleased to announce that Grant Driedger has officially become the president of The Law Society of Manitoba. The Law Society is the governing body of lawyers in Manitoba and regulates the legal profession within the province; including
determining who gets admitted to practice law in Manitoba, setting out discipline for lawyers who have breached ethical rules, overseeing liability insurance, and generally protecting the public in its involvements with the legal profession. Current challenges faced by The Law Society include dealing with the social and economic fallout from the pandemic, continued progress on issues with access to justice, and building up public confidence in the legal profession by making people more aware of how the Law Society works as a regulator for the legal profession.
Grant’s main areas of practice are civil and administrative litigation including employment law, as well as real estate and wills and estate matters. He has served as a Bencher with The Law Society since 2014 and has also been an adjudicator, board member and chair of various committees and tribunals.
This is the third time that an SNJ lawyer has been president of The Law Society of Manitoba. At SNJ, we pride ourselves on providing high-quality legal services to our clients.
