BACKGROUND

Gerard was born and raised in St. Lazare, a small French community in Western Manitoba. After obtaining his law degree from the University of Moncton in New Brunswick, Gerard joined the firm in 1995 as an Articling Student. True to his farming roots, Gerard, his spouse, Rachael and their four children, Gabrielle, Dominique, Gaëtan and Chloé built their home on a small acreage near the Town of La Broquerie. Gerard and Rachael are also the proud grandparents of Marie-Ange.

EDUCATION

Gerard obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree (with a major in French Literature) from the University of Manitoba in 1992. Gerard is fluently bilingual in French and English and studied one year at the Université of Perpignan in south-western France before obtaining his law degree. Gerard was called to the Manitoba Bar in 1995 and is now a partner with the firm.

AREAS OF PRACTICE

Gerard has experience in most areas of law, including family and civil matters, however, his areas of expertise are real estate and condominium law, commercial and agricultural transactions, wills and estate planning as well as corporate transactions.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES

Gerard has served as a legal advisor to several not-for-profit and charitable organizations in Southeast Manitoba and is an active member of the Knights of Columbus Council of La Broquerie as well as one of the directors of La Broquerie Catholic Church.

PERSONAL INTERESTS

During the summer, Gerard enjoys spending time on the golf course and throughout the winter snowmobiling with his extended family in both western and eastern Manitoba. Gerard is especially looking forward to teaching his granddaughter, Marie-Ange, the fundamentals of golf. Every winter, Gerard finds time to drive out west to snowmobile in the Rocky Mountains with his son and nephews.

Véritable a sa jeunesse, Gérard, son épouse, Rachael et leur quatre enfants Gabrielle, Dominique, Gaëtan et Chloé se sont établit dans la campagne près du village de La Broquerie. Gérard et Rachael sont aussi des fières grand parents de Marie-Ange et Antonin.

ÉDUCATION

Gérard a obtenu son baccalauréat en art avec une majeure en littérature française de l’université du Manitoba en 1992. Gérard est bilingue en français et anglais et il a étudier à l’université de Perpignan au sud-ouest de la France pour un ans. Gérard est devenu un membre du Barreau de Manitoba en 1995 et est maintenant un partenaire.

Gérard a l’expérience dans plusieurs domaines du droits tel que le droit de la famille et le droit civil, cependant ses domaines d’expertises sont le droit d’immobilier et de condominium, les transactions commerciaux et d’agricultures, les testaments et la planification successorale, ainsi que les transactions corporatifs.

IMPLICATION COMMUNAUTAIRE

Gérard a offert ses conseils juridiques à plusieurs organisations non-lucratives et charitable dans le sud-est du Manitoba. Il est aussi un membre des Chevaliers de Colomb de La Broquerie ainsi qu’un membre du conseil pour la paroisse de La Broquerie.
