Ron has been a partner with SNJ since 2008. Ron articled in 1996 and became a lawyer in 1997. He practised with a firm in downtown Winnipeg until joining SNJ in January, 2003. In September, 2005 Ron opened SNJ’s office in Niverville.
Ron attended the University of Winnipeg on academic and athletic scholarships and graduated from that University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts, major in Administration Studies, “Student of Distinction”. Ron then entered the Faculty of Law at the University of Manitoba where he received his Bachelor of Laws degree in 1996 (exchanged in 2012 for Juris Doctor), achieving top marks in Corporate Law and Policy, and Municipal Law in his graduating year.
Ron’s preferred practice areas are real estate, corporate, and wills and estates. Ron’s main geographic “area of practice” is Niverville. Our office in Niverville is integrated through internet, phones and computers to our Steinbach office. Ron works in Niverville with two dedicated staff: a real estate legal assistant and a corporate/general legal assistant. Ron and the Niverville team are committed to SNJ’s mission statement. SNJ has sent a lawyer to Niverville for over 40 years, and Ron continues the SNJ tradition of striving to provide Niverville and its surrounding communities with the highest level of legal service possible.
Ron has served as a director for various non-profit and other corporations, and he continues to do so. At the request of certain charitable and non-profit organizations Ron has been a been a presenter of wills and estate seminars, mainly for seniors. He has also presented educational seminars regarding real estate and agricultural issues.
When not in the office Ron is thankful for time with his wife and five children, family, extended family, and friends. Ron’s family lives on a small acreage just south of Winnipeg’s Perimeter Highway. Ron has completed university coaching courses and other coaching qualifications, and has coached youth soccer, basketball, and most recently, hockey. Ron’s other interests include church related activities, outdoor activities, most sports and fishing.
